Cyber Security Consultant

Job Description

Our company is in search of a highly skilled Cyber Security Consultant to join our team. The role of a Cyber Security Consultant is to provide expert advice and support to clients regarding their data and infrastructure security. You will analyze, design, and implement security solutions to protect clients against potential cyber threats. This job requires you to conduct security assessments, develop and implement security strategies, and stay on top of security threats and trends. In addition, you will develop and implement security policies and procedures, communicate effectively with clients and stakeholders, and provide guidance and support to junior team members.

Key Responsibilities

As a Cyber Security Consultant, you will have the following responsibilities:
  • Conducting Security Assessments: You will assess clients' IT systems and networks to identify potential vulnerabilities and recommend appropriate solutions to mitigate the identified risks.
  • Developing and Implementing Security Strategies: You must develop and implement security strategies and solutions to enhance clients' overall security posture, including policies, procedures, and training.
  • Penetration Testing and Vulnerability Assessments: You will conduct penetration testing and vulnerability assessments to test the effectiveness of security solutions and identify potential weaknesses.
  • Providing Guidance and Advice: You will provide guidance and advice to clients on best practices for security, including policies, procedures, and training.
  • Staying Up-to-date with the Latest Security Threats and Trends: To identify potential risks to client infrastructure and data, you must stay up-to-date with the latest security threats and trends.
  • Participating in Incident Response and Recovery Efforts: You will be responsible for responding to incidents and recovering from them, as well as conducting forensic analyses and minimizing threats.
  • Collaborating with Internal Teams and External Partners: You will be required to collaborate with internal teams and external partners to develop and implement security policies and procedures.
  • Communicating Effectively with Clients and Stakeholders: You will be responsible for communicating effectively with clients and stakeholders to understand their needs and requirements and provide timely and effective solutions.
  • Providing Support and Guidance to Junior Members of the Team: Mentoring and coaching junior team members will be your responsibility.

Qualification Needed

The following qualifications are needed to become a Cyber Security Consultant:
  • Bachelor's Degree: A bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field. A Master's degree is desirable.
  • Experience: At least 5 years of experience working in Cyber Security or a related field, with a proven track record of delivering high-quality security solutions and services.
  • Technical Knowledge: Experience with firewalls, intrusion detection and prevention systems, endpoint security solutions, and security information and event management systems (SIEM).
  • Security Frameworks: Knowledge of security frameworks such as NIST, ISO 27001, and PCI-DSS, and experience implementing these frameworks in a variety of environments.
  • Penetration Testing and Vulnerability Assessments: Knowledge of common tools and techniques used in penetration testing and vulnerability assessments.
  • Cloud Security: Familiarity with cloud security concepts and technologies, including AWS, Azure, and GCP.
  • Analytical and Problem-solving Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and analyze security risks and develop effective solutions.
  • Communication Skills: Ability to build strong relationships with clients and stakeholders and communicate complex security issues in a clear and concise manner.
  • Certifications: Relevant security certifications, such as CISSP, CISM, CISA, or GIAC, are highly desirable.
