IT Security Officer
Job Description
We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled IT Security Officer to manage the security of our IT systems and data. This position is critical in our organization because our IT systems and data are crucial to our daily operations and must be protected from both internal and external threats. As the IT Security Officer, you will be responsible for developing and implementing IT security policies, procedures, and best practices, as well as managing network, system, and application security.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and implement IT security policies, procedures, and best practices in accordance with industry standards and regulations to ensure the protection of our IT systems and data.
Manage the security of our networks, systems, and applications to safeguard them against external and internal threats, such as malware, phishing, and other types of cyber-attacks. Monitor and analyze security logs and events to identify potential security threats and take corrective actions.
Conduct regular vulnerability assessments and penetration testing to identify potential flaws in our IT systems and applications and implement corrective actions. Implement and manage security tools such as firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, and endpoint protection to maintain the ongoing security of our IT systems and data.
Control access to our information technology systems and data to ensure that only authorized personnel have access to sensitive information.
Develop and deliver IT security awareness training to employees to keep them informed about the latest threats and best practices for protecting our IT systems and data. Stay up-to-date on the latest IT security trends and technologies and make recommendations to senior management on how to improve our IT security posture.
Coordinate with outside IT security consultants and vendors to implement security solutions while adhering to industry standards and regulations. Respond quickly and effectively to security incidents and conduct post-incident reviews to identify lessons learned and implement corrective actions.

Qualification Needed
To be considered for the IT Security Officer position, candidates must meet the following qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a closely related field. At least 5 years of IT security experience, with a focus on network and system security.
Solid understanding of IT security best practices, standards, and regulations, such as ISO 27001, NIST, and GDPR. Working knowledge of security tools such as firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, and endpoint protection. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, as well as the ability to identify and mitigate potential security threats.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, as well as the ability to communicate complex IT security concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
Certifications in IT security, such as CISSP, CISM, or CISA, are highly desirable. Working experience in a regulated industry, such as healthcare or finance, is preferred.
